Sha’Carri Richardson received a five-year, $20 million deal with Nike earlier this month. This deal isn’t the only recent success she’s had. The Olympic trials began on June 21, and many great athletes were in attendance, but one that particularly brings in a large viewing is Richardson with her phenomenal speed and ambitious attitude.
During the opening round of the women’s 100 meters, Richardson lit up the competition finishing 10.88 to place first in the opening round of the event and advance to the semifinals of the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials. She was able to shake back and finish first after not getting off to a great start with an untied shoe.
On June 22, the semifinals and finals of the women’s 100 were scheduled. Richardson punched her ticket to the Olympics for the first time in her career, winning the 100-meter dash with a 10.71, advancing her as the fastest woman in the world this year.
