Since arriving at the University of Florida, Jac Caglianone has been an exceptional player for the Gators baseball team.
Caglianone’s freshman season was just the beginning of his remarkable journey with the Gators. After a year of growth and development, he returned as a sophomore and immediately became a dominant force on the field. Smashing 33 home runs (26 more than his freshman year), maintained a .323 batting average, and recorded 90 RBIs. With such competitive stats at the end of the 2023 season, many believed he should have pursued a professional career.
However, Caglianone decided to return for a final year of college baseball, and it has certainly paid off. In the 2024 season, he elevated his batting average to an impressive .418, with 72 RBIs and 33 home runs.
The Gators are currently competing in the College World Series, and Caglianone has been putting on a show. After hitting a game-ending home run to eliminate the Kentucky Wildcats, he now holds the new program record of 75 career home runs in Gators history.
As the Gators’ season progresses, Caglianone has the potential to continue adding to his impressive home run tally and further solidify his record.
With the MLB draft scheduled for July 14, Caglianone is predicted to be selected within the top 10 picks.
