TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — College GameDay will be in town to cover the Alabama vs. Georgia top-10 matchup this weekend.
With this being the third game against Georgia under coach Kalen DeBoer's reign, Alabama looks to bounce back from its loss against the Bulldogs in the 2025 SEC Championship. However, this thrilling matchup could be rescheduled due to Tropical Storm Isaias.
Preparations for GameDay can be seen throughout the Quad on Alabama's campus. Yet, the severity of the storm calls the show's appearance into question. Possible solutions to the storm threat would be moving the site into Coleman Coliseum, or the show and game potentially being moved to a different day.
After Tuesday's practice, Alabama football players chimed in on their experiences of College GameDay and who their guest picker would be.
"You turn on football on a Saturday, College GameDay is going to be on," said Bray Hubbard, senior captain of the Alabama football team. "It may be Bryce [Young]."
The players kept a focused mindset throughout practice, not letting the extra noise for this weekend get to them.
"It's an external factor, so I really just been focusing on the game," said junior captain Ryan Williams. "If there was a guest picker ... Labaron Philon for sure."
As of Wednesday, Oct. 7, the tropical storm has rapidly organized in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico and is accelerating northeast toward the northern Gulf Coast. Alabama Athletics and the SEC are staying in communication with the National Weather Service to ensure safety for players and fans.
Despite the terrible weather, the ball will be lined up at some point this weekend for these SEC giants to go at it in a four-quarter battle. Though it's unlikely this will be the last time these two teams will face off this season, with many of their famous games being played in the postseason.
The game will be another chapter in this historic rivalry, but it has eerily similar circumstances to the 2015 matchup in Athens. The Tide prevailed 38-10 in monsoon conditions, with a Heisman-winning running back and an electrifying defense to carry them to victory. That team eventually won the national championship against Clemson and Deshaun Watson in the desert.
Can Georgia keep their winning streak alive against the Tide, or will Alabama avenge its defeat despite the prevailing weather?
